Attorney Chris Bell

Christopher “Chris” Bell

After growing up in the Northern Appalachians of Upstate New York, Chris Bell moved to Virginia shortly before graduating high school. He attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. It was during his time in Greenville - while interning in the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office - that he discovered a deep passion for the law and advocacy, setting the foundation for his inevitable legal career.

After gaining invaluable, real-world experience in sales and marketing during four years in the private sector, Chris pursued his calling by enrolling at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There, he quickly distinguished himself with success on practical skills boards - Alternative Dispute Resolution (negotiations) and Trial Advocacy - in addition to his course work. Chris represented his school on the national stage in ABA Alternative Dispute Resolution competitions in New Orleans, Louisiana and Dallas, Texas for two consecutive years.

After passing the Virginia State Bar, Chris served as a prosecutor in Southampton County, Virginia for nearly eight years, and later in Scott County, Virginia for four more. During his prosecutorial career he did not shy away from a fight, dutifully prosecuting every type of case imaginable, from speeding tickets to first-degree murder. His jury trial experience likewise spanned the entire spectrum, including financial crimes, property crimes, violent crimes, sexual assault, rape, and even murder. This extensive experience in the courtroom, deep knowledge of criminal law, and commitment to justice provided him with a strong foundation in trial work and advocacy that he continues to utilize for the benefits of his clients.

Recognizing a pressing need for skilled and compassionate legal representation in Southwest Virginia, Chris established his own law firm - Bell Law Firm, PLLC - in 2025. Today, he focuses his practice on criminal defense and personal injury cases, helping clients navigate some of the most challenging moments of their lives with confidence and peace of mind.

Whether defending the rights of the accused or fighting for the injured, Chris brings dedication, integrity, and over a decade of prosecutorial insights to every case. When the system comes after you, he makes sure you’re not standing alone!
